"What's the use of worrying? It never was worthwhile." So...

"What's the use of worrying? It never was worthwhile." So goes a line in a World War I song. Christian Science healings I have experienced have shown me that the above statement hints at a divine fact—namely, that God indeed always cares for all of us, His creation, and that we need waste no time in doubting His loving and omnipotent care.

Shortly after leaving a Christian Science Sunday School I found myself staying in a home where the family were not Christian Scientists. They were concerned about my physical condition due to weight loss and abnormal coughing. I was persuaded to visit a kindly local physician. After a short examination he sent me on to a specialist. This led to my being placed in a sanatorium. It took these events to awaken my thought and turn it Godward. The physician's statement I had only twelve months to live was another mental jolt.

After just one prayerful night in hospital I asked, early in the morning, for a message to be given to the responsible authority that I had chosen not to follow through with medical treatment. After signing documents absolving the hospital from any further responsibility, I was taken home.
