Where We Are
In the Imperial Valley of southern California, near the Mexican border, is the pleasant city of El Centro. It is located in an area an early explorer called "the hollow of His hand" and an American novelist referred to later as "la palma de la mano de Dios," "the palm of God's hand."
To one whose whole trust is in God, the thought of being in the very center, the hollow, of the palm of God's hand gives a beautiful sense of tenderness and strength—loving power, powerful love. It conveys an assurance of guidance, shelter, and protection—of God's will at work among men.
To know that we are held fast and safe in God's will, in the depth of His love, is to know something of the consciousness of spiritual dominion that filled Christ Jesus. Jesus knew where he came from and where he always was—in the ever-present love and care of omnipresent Spirit, God, whom he called our Father.
