Let go of a regretted past or dread of the future

Christian Science stresses that basic to genuine and enduring happiness and health is a knowledge of who we actually are and where we come from. This means being aware of our sonship with God, Spirit, and knowing that our nature reflects the complete, unflawed nature of our Father-Mother.
The recognition that each of us is the child of incorporeal Spirit and not the arbitrary offspring of mortals progressively does away with the shackles of material background—racial, social, economic. Our willingness to allow every individual his inheritance as the son of divine Love dissolves the hatred and jealousy attached to wealth and poverty. Having the courage to identify oneself as an idea of unerring divine Mind helps remove the limits on intelligence and brings to light our potential mental capacities.
John told the early Christians, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." I John 3:2; Acknowledging our origin and source to be undeviating divine Principle releases us from the fetters of a disappointing and regretted past as well as from a dread of the future. In reality, all that we ever were or are now or are ever going to be, is the son of God. Perceiving clearly his relationship to divine Truth, John said further: "We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error." 4:6; Our perception of God as Father shows us the joys of life in Soul and the mistake of a belief of life in matter.
