I was playing outside with some friends
I was playing outside with some friends. We were making a raft out of old boards, which had some nails in them. While we were playing, I stepped on a nail. As soon as it happened, I thought, "I am God's perfect child." I took off my shoe and sock and went in the house. I told my mother what had happened, and she said, "That nail has no power over the child of God." We washed my foot with soap and water.
We went out and did some errands with my family. When I got back, my foot hurt and had started to swell. Although I had thought, "I am God's perfect child," and my mother had said that the nail had no power over the child of God, we had more to do. My mother called a Christian Science practitioner, and he said I should know that God is the only power. He said he would pray for me. My mother and I read the Lesson-Sermon. In readings from the Bible, and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we found the truth—that God is the only power. With this I found my foot was perfectly OK, and I played baseball the rest of the evening with my family.
I am happy I am learning how God heals.
