Perfection Is Always Here

Perfection is the foundation for Christian Science healing. The understanding and acceptance of the perfection of God, Spirit, as reflected by His creation, man, is what has made possible countless healings accredited to this scientific advance in Christianity.

When Mary Baker Eddy discovered the reality of man's spiritual perfection, she opened vistas of thought that had been ignored or left only partially explored for centuries. Her discovery proved that Christ Jesus was not asking the impossible when he said, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matt. 5:48; It would be impossible for mortal man to be perfect, since mortality is synonymous with death and finiteness. But Jesus was conscious of a deeper reality—God's image, the immortal reflection of the divine creator. This perfect creation, which is our true selfhood, has never lost its original perfection. Spiritual perfection is ours inherently. Our aim must be to realize we do reflect God's perfection and to see that fact demonstrated in our daily life.

Impossible task? Not at all. Rather a challenge that is constantly confronting us. Why do we see so much that seems to express imperfection? The answer is basic to an understanding of Christian Science. What we see depends on how we view it and how we think about it.
