I was raised in Christian Science and have been healed of...

I was raised in Christian Science and have been healed of so-called children's diseases and of rheumatic fever and polio. There seemed to be other problems also. I was born tongue-tied; then there were broken bones and a stomach disorder. When I was a teen-ager I was healed of painful, chronic headaches. These and other difficulties, including some unlovely character traits, have been healed in Christian Science. Indeed, "if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered" (Ps. 40:5). Other members of my family have had marvelous proofs of God's care and protection.

About three years ago my arm, shoulder, and neck became quite painful, so that I could not sleep or even lie down. As I was missing a good deal of time from work, I decided to take my vacation and go to stay with my mother. With the treatment of a Christian Science practitioner there, it was not long before I was almost completely free from pain and could sleep normally, although for a few days I could not use the arm. However, by the time my vacation was over, I was completely free and so very, very grateful.

Then, some months after, the same problem seemed to manifest itself in my other arm. The fear persisted for a few days, until one morning I took the matter in hand myself. I knew that if I didn't appear at work, someone else would have to do my part. I felt that would not be right, and I really wanted to be there. I began the study of the Lesson-Sermon, and soon all pain and stiffness vanished, and they have not returned. I went to work completely free. A thought I clung to during this time was from Christian Healing by Mrs. Eddy (p. 10), "There is but one side to good,—it has no evil side; there is but one side to reality, and that is the good side."
