Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was given to me by an aunt
Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was given to me by an aunt. She said, "Read this. It might help you." It was my first contact with Christian Science.
I was amazed at what I read and wondered why I had not heard of Science before. I had had many family troubles in earlier years and felt they could all have been met in Science had I known of it then. But now I was married with a family of my own, so I hastened to put my two boys in the Sunday School of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, near our home, and began attending the church services myself.
As I look back I can see I was on the mountaintop of inspiration. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 559): "Read this book from beginning to end. Study it, ponder it. It will be indeed sweet at its first taste, when it heals you; but murmur not over Truth, if you find its digestion bitter." And it did heal me.
