LOOK UP!
Assailed by doubt when healing did not come,
I remembered at Bethesda a man who watched a pool.
And Mary, who sorrowing looked down into an empty tomb.
Thomas, too—only print of nail was proof to him.
All of these had just one thing to do.
Look up!
Look up! Behold the Christ!
What have I learned?
I can't watch pool, or tomb, or print of nail,
For in them is no truth.
I must lift thought and recognize the Christ
Right here beside me—waiting.
