Christian Science is the best news I ever heard. Even a small understanding of it can effect great changes.

I had been quite frightened of freeways. I usually kept my eyes shut whenever my husband drove on these roads with me in the car. For eight years my job had required me to drive daily, and I was often behind in my work because of my consistent refusal to use the faster routes. Then a Christian Scientist friend told me this much of her religion, that Love is a synonym for God. Before, I had thought of God as a person who was perhaps loving. Now I found Love surrounding me completely.

The next time I went to visit my friend, I drove onto the freeway without hesitation, confident that Love cherished me and cared for me. I have been using these highways day and night since and have always felt serene. Last fall I assisted my daughter in moving to Idaho by towing a large trailer of furniture and driving back alone. It was two thousand miles of highway driving, and Love was present all the way.
