Christian Science has always been such a practical teaching to me. I love the way Mrs. Eddy stood for the revelation God gave to her, the way she first demonstrated its truth in healing, and the way she gives it to us through her writings.

A few months ago I had a bicycle accident. I was returning home after visiting a relative in a local hospital. I was riding through the parking lot and ran into a car barrier. The next thing I found myself in the emergency clinic of the hospital, with apparent severe head injuries. When I regained consciousness, the attending doctor asked me the name of my doctor, and I told him I was a Christian Scientist. When I realized where I was, my thought dwelt on certain familiar Bible verses.

After I was at the hospital quite some time, a member of my family was contacted and I was taken home. As soon as I was able, I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner and treatment was immediately given. When I told her of some of the dire predictions the medical attendants had made concerning my condition, she quieted my fear with strong protests of the truth of my spiritual being untouched by accident, and she assured me that all would be well. I depended entirely on spiritual means, and the complete healing came in about three weeks.
