Protection—Even There

We are never outside God's protection. On the ground, in the air, at sea—"even there," the Psalmist reminds us, "shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me." Ps. 139:10;

We are at one with omnipresent Love, God. We learn in Christian Science that we live in His presence, and His love sustains us there. Mrs. Eddy wrote to her students, "How blessed it is to think of you as 'beneath the shadow of a great rock in a weary land,' safe in His strength, building on His foundation, and covered from the devourer by divine protection and affection." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 263;

Our protection is in our understanding of man's unity with God. This is no momentary salvation, restricted to a particular location or situation. Divine protection is not limited to an easy chair. Living in accord with divine law, we can prove God's care for man whatever our activity, wherever that activity may take us. Can omnipresent, animating, divine Principle, God, be less than everywhere?
