For over forty years I have been a student of Christian Science and have had many healings. One which occurred in our home many years ago brought Christian Science to my attention. My sister had a severe cough, and medical means could not give her any relief. A dear friend of the family, a Christian Science practitioner, offered to help her through prayer. In a few weeks the cough left, and she was entirely free. We did not know how this came about, but Christian Science and the healing were dear to our hearts. Some years later, because of my sister's employment, a chest X ray was required. The X ray showed two healed spots, one on each lung. The healing has been permanent.

I longed to know more of God and this divine Science. The answer came. I was seeking employment and began to visit a Christian Science Reading Room, studying Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Also, I began to attend church services on Sunday and Wednesday evening testimony meetings. Mrs. Eddy tells us (ibid., p. 199), "The devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible." Through my prayers and reaching out, in a most unexpected way a position was offered that permitted me to use a subject I had taught in the vocational schools. I then joined The Mother Church and a local branch church.

Recently, what seemed to be a frightening experience occurred. My jaw became locked and for several days remained so. My thought had to be spiritually refreshed, and fear had to be allayed. Although I could only sip or eat small bits of food, I realized all God's ideas are controlled and governed by Him. I had treatment from an experienced practitioner, and the condition was healed.
