The Bible and Business

Spiritualizing one's thoughts and acts through prayerful study of the Bible is an extremely useful discipline. Christian Scientists who are businessmen and businesswomen are finding this out. By earnestly researching God's Word in the light of Christian Science they find within the Bible's pages a treasure trove of spiritual wisdom, guidance, and strength that enables them to cope successfully with problems large and small.

Mrs. Eddy remarks, "Take away the spiritual signification of Scripture, and that compilation can do no more for mortals than can moonbeams to melt a river of ice."^{Science and Health, p. 241;} The earnest student of Christian Science understands this. He sees his real business to be the day-to-day process of purifying thought, learning through a higher sense of Scripture the truth of God and of man's real spiritual selfhood as His image and likeness.

The Bible record shows Christ Jesus to be the most able man who ever lived. It was said of him, "He hath done all things well."^{Mark 7:37;} His whole human life was devoted to his Father's work—to real business. He said, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth."^{John 18:37;}
