ALTITUDE

May this thought of mine
not be a roller coaster
or a Ferriswheel ride
with its ups and downs.
Let it ride high
above the myriad fantasies
of a carnival of masquerades.
Let it be high enough
to reach the level of true reality—
the altitude of genuine Love.
