John Among the Wolves
They weren't really a pack of wolves. They were a gang of boys trying to act mean and tough. John found himself in the same cabin with them at camp.
It all started because John loved ice hockey. All winter he played defense on his local team and he was just beginning to feel really good at it when spring came and the season was over. So when the chance came to go to summer hockey camp, John could hardly wait.
His parents drove him to the airport, where he met Don and Buckie who were going to the same camp. They sat together on the plane. When the boys arrived in Toronto, Canada, an old blue pickup truck from the camp met them at the airport terminal. John swung his heavy footlocker up onto the back and climbed in with Don and Buckie and some other boys going to the camp. It would be a long drive, over a hundred miles.
