As Natural as Sunrise
To one who is new to the study of Christian Science, spiritual healing may seem unnatural. He may not want to depend on it because he might feel that it contradicts all he has been taught to believe is normal for taking care of the body and maintaining health.
Even if he has experienced the power of healing through spiritual means alone, he may have only a vague idea of how it happened. He might think he needs years of concentrated religious study before he can heal, or he may feel he needs to be gifted with a special talent or ability.
Mrs. Eddy does not indicate that healing is difficult or unnatural or that it is something to be learned at a future time. She writes: "The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural." Science and Health, p. xi;
