The Talent of Spiritual Thinking
Achieving excellence in a chosen area involves definite disciplines and dedication. Humility is imperative, otherwise one may limit his talent by thinking that he, apart from God, is its source. Persistence is also needed in the face of negative, mortal suggestions that might tend to divert us from our goal.
There is one special talent that is vitally important and that we can all cultivate. It evidences the beauty and eternality of spiritual good. It's the talent of spiritualized thinking, and it blesses us with the added depth and direction it gives to our lives.
For instance, it is evident that obedience to the Ten Commandments is required of us as followers of God, Truth. But as we grow spiritually and our perception is enlarged, the cherishing, appreciating, and supporting of these God-given laws in all their purifying insights take on greater meaning, blessing us with inner enrichment, peace, and spiritual strength.
