The few trials we've had have served to arouse us to a fuller expression of our God-given dominion. Illness has been relatively nonexistent in our household, and recovery from accidents has been quick and complete.
When our first daughter was a preschooler, she fell from a tree, landing with full force on her wrist. She appeared to be in great pain, and onlookers were very concerned. I tried hard to quiet her and to apply my then undeveloped understanding of Christian Science to the situation, but I too was very frightened.
