Why Succumb to Fatigue?
Vitality and strength are ours by divine right. Yet most of us have been faced at some time with the aggressive mental suggestion that we were overwhelmed by exhaustion. This is actually a belief that we are mortals. In truth we are not mortals but the divine ideas of God, wholly spiritual, perfect, and complete. Fatigue, or weariness, is a lie about God and man, having no reality, existence, or power; it cannot affect man, the reflection of divine Love.
Christ Jesus was so aware of the source of his energy that he was able to say with conviction: "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt. 11:29, 30; Inseparable from the Christ, Jesus consciously reflected the divine nature of God. This supported him in carrying on his sacred work.
The Master scientifically demonstrated energy and vitality by understanding his oneness with the Father. He did his work from the standpoint of glorifying his Father and for the enlightenment of men; this energized all of his activities. He gave a Christianly scientific "how-to-live" pattern of life for all men to understand and follow.
