Reality-Divinely Mental
Studying Christian Science, we soon learn to put much weight on the mental nature of existence and experience.
We should early recognize, however, that Science exchanges physical objects not simply for physical concepts but for spiritual ideas. Mary Baker Eddy writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "The verity of Mind shows conclusively how it is that matter seems to be, but is not. Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolves things into thoughts, and replaces the objects of material sense with spiritual ideas." Science and Health, p. 123;
Science shows that the singleness of infinite Mind as God implies the indivisibility of consciousness and the hollowness and unreality of matter and its conditions. In Science consciousness is divine, for God's knowing and expression comprise it. So we come to realize through the system of Science that there is no material consciousness to entertain beliefs that there are material objects and conditions either within or without itself. Through our spiritual understanding and growth this false consciousness progressively yields to the divine reality and ultimately will yield to it totally.
