I have experienced many proofs of God's care for His beloved children.

Once while flying a light plane in Arizona I noticed that my fuel was not flowing properly. It was supposed to flow evenly from both tanks, but my gauges showed that my left tank was full and my right tank almost empty. I had to get downstairs in a hurry.

I knew that for me to get down safely my thought had to go up higher—from a hazardous human situation to an acknowledgment of God's creation governed by spiritual law. Instantly I recalled these words from Mrs. Eddy's hymn called "Mother's Evening Prayer": "Keep Thou my child on upward wing tonight." The lines read (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207), "Thou Love that guards the nestling's faltering flight!/Keep Thou my child on upward wing tonight."
