Christian Science is the greatest blessing in my life
Christian Science is the greatest blessing in my life. It all began with my desire to go to a large city to find employment. My mother accompanied me. We went to the business place I had in mind, and before noon I had a position to start work the next day. Mother took me to visit a Christian Science friend who agreed to allow me to live in her home. The peace and harmony in that home was an example I have used as a measuring stick through the years.
After the end of World War II my husband and I had the desire to have a business of our own. One day a customer came into the office where I was employed and said he wanted to sell a lettershop. After prayerful consideration and help from a Christian Science practitioner we purchased the business. Neither one of us had any experience in this line, but through our applying our understanding of God as Mind, the source of all intelligence, the business prospered and grew from a one-man operation to five employees. We expanded our field to include printing and direct mail advertising.
A statement from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 506), "Spirit, God, gathers unformed thoughts into their proper channels, and unfolds these thoughts, even as He opens the petals of a holy purpose in order that the purpose may appear," has directed, protected, and provided me with inspiration to face the challenges of the business world and in raising a family.
