It has been over twenty years since I was introduced to Christian Science, and my gratitude for the many blessings received during these years can no longer be kept "under a bushel."
A friend who was a Christian Scientist invited me to attend a lecture on Christian Science. I realized that what the lecturer said was consistent with what Christ Jesus had taught, and that primitive Christianity was not really lost to the world as I had thought. In the lecture the following statement from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, remained with me (p. 14): "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,— neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints."
I experienced an immediate healing of eyestrain. My work was in advertising art, and I used my eyes constantly. I had intended to see an oculist, but it was no longer necessary.
