I recently graduated from high school and have been brought up in the Christian Science Sunday School. When a sophomore, an opportunity came for me to apply for myself what I had learned of God's love and protection and to prove the healing truths of Christian Science without the help of my parents, friends, or a Christian Science practitioner.

An epidemic of flu had broken out, and several students were out of school for a week or even two weeks, as it seemed to be quite serious. My mother would often remark during times like that how fortunate we were to know, and to be able to practice, God's constant care and protection for all His children.

One evening while I was doing my homework, I seemed to forget God's constant care. I remembered hearing some of my friends talking about their symptoms when they had the flu and I seemed to have some of them. With a great deal of effort I finished my school lessons and went to bed.
