Here Paul speaks autobiographically as a Christian missionary. He had founded the community of believers at Corinth. Other influences had come in—who "another" was, we do not know, but there was rivalry among the followers of different teachers. Paul in this letter reminds the Corinthians of the Church's one foundation and of the testing that will determine the substantiality of every man's work.
