I would like to express appreciation for the fact that my mother took up the study of Christian Science when I was about five years old and enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School at that time. Her adherence to Mrs. Eddy's statement "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized" (Science and Health, p. 167) has been a strengthening example throughout the years I have studied this religion.

During the depression years I left home at an early age to further my education and also make a living. Through prayer a way to do this had been shown me, and my needs were always met.

It was a great blessing to be able to attend a Christian Science Sunday School away from home. Here I was taught by loving and inspired teachers the truths of man's relationship to God, of man's true identity as the idea of God and how to apply these truths in human experience. During this time it was also possible for me to live for a while in the home of a Christian Science who put into practice with her large family the love that Christian Science teaches.
