I wish to express my gratitude for the practicality of Christian Science in everyday affairs.

Upon investigating Christian Science I found that my question as to whether Christian Science could help me meet the many challenges of today and earn the substance for existence was answered with a resounding Yes! Like the released Jehoiachin in the Bible, I found my daily substance: "A continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life" (II Kings 25:30).

As a seaman in the United States Merchant Marine, I spent most of my time at sea and in many parts of the world. Church attendance was limited to port calls, if the port had a church, or else when at home on my vacations. But with Christian Science I was never alone or lonely, and had my "church services" on Sundays and Wednesdays in midocean or wherever I was. I found Christian Science very practical, and a protective and loving force wherever I went. It has proven to be a practical guide in the everyday affairs of the mechanical world of a deep-sea, freighter-passenger ship.
