God's Ever-present Voice
What is the still small voice referred to in the Bible? Where does it originate?
It is the voice of infinite Spirit, speaking gently and constantly to every one of us. Listening for it as the prophet Elijah did, we all can hear it, heed its admonition, and receive divine guidance throughout our lives. This voice is ever present. It may come to us through a Bible passage, a hymn verse, a quotation from a spiritually inspired writer, or some other avenue.
"The 'still, small voice' of scientific thought reaches over continent and ocean to the globe's remotest bound," Science and Health, p. 559; writes Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health. Many have heard Spirit's voice while driving on crowded highways or sailing or flying or just sitting quietly in church or at home, meditating on God and praying for divine guidance.
