God Is Our Present Help
You have a need? God has already supplied it. You are in trouble? Whatever it is, however great or small the problem may be, God has the solution and will help you. He is always near at hand and never preoccupied so that He cannot simultaneously care for you and all other people whether they are standing on the earth, swimming in the ocean, or traveling in outer space.
The fact of God's omnipresent availability to help mankind, whatever the need may be, is often presented in the Bible. Millions have been comforted by the Psalmist's assurance, "God is...a very present help in trouble." Ps. 46:1; Their confidence has been strengthened by the words of the writer of the Epistle to the Philippians, "God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:19;
The Apostle Paul was speaking from experience. He had proof of the saving power of Deity when he was put in prison, shipwrecked, and otherwise endangered by the enemies of Christianity. Despite his own acts of hostility against the early Christians in his younger years, he did not forfeit the comfort of the divine Father revealed by Christ Jesus but had daily evidence of His saving power.
