Mrs. Eddy writes on the first page of the opening chapter of Science and Health, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." Christian Science has been my way of life for over fifty years.

One night, three and a half years ago, while I was preparing to retire, I slipped on a rug. When I was helped to my feet, my left arm hung limp at my side, and it appeared that a bone was broken. My husband asked if I wanted a doctor or Christian Science treatment, and I replied, "Christian Science."

Help was requested from a Christian Science practitioner, who prayed for me faithfully and lifted my thinking to the recognition of God's healing presence with me. There was no X ray, surgery, or medication, and the arm was not placed in a sling. God was my only physician, and I did not doubt that the outcome would be a perfect healing, which proved to be the case. I would like to say that at the time of this accident I had long passed threescore years and ten.
