Letting God Be Our Guide
How wonderful it is to be able to listen for God's guidance, hear what He says and do it! But many who try to listen fail to hear. Many who hear are not sure what they have heard is really of God. Others, feeling certain that God has directed them, seem reluctant to take the first step.
The failure to hear, the uncertainty, and the reluctance all stem from a misunderstanding of what God is and of what man is. This misunderstanding leaves a chasm between what we think we are and what we think the divine Mind is. Our belief of Mind and of ourselves does not then comprehend or trust the guidance that we only wishfully hope will bridge the chasm.
Christian Science explains God, divine Mind, as ever-present good, as Love, Spirit, Principle. The divine Mind is not a person to talk with or listen to in a materially personal sense. But we can understand Mind's language as we gain the sense of ourselves as spiritual ideas of Mind.
