In one of our loved hymns by Mrs. Eddy the question is asked, "Felt ye the power of the Word?" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 298.) I now want to join the thousands of other Christian Scientists who have answered, "Yes, many, many times," to this direct question put by Mrs. Eddy.

Years ago when I was very young in Christian Science, I suddenly realized that my hair was falling out and leaving ugly bald spots all over my head. There was also a great deal of discomfort from irritation. After a Christian Science practitioner had worked with me prayerfully for three months, apparently to no avail as the condition steadily grew worse, she called me to say she was going away and would have to give up the case.

As I hung up the phone, I felt overwhelmed with fear and the feeling of being deserted. But in this moment of despair an angel message came in these words: "But you have the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and all the truth you need to know is there."
