Insurance policies are creditable and in many instances necessary to our present mode of living. Life insurance provides some degree of financial security for the policyholder's dependents in case he passes on. Other types, such as accident, fire, and theft insurance also, to a certain extent, offer policyholders assurance and financial protection.
Insurance can soften somewhat the blow of dishonesty, disaster, illness, or death. But is there some sure way to prevent tragedy? Definitely, yes—through prayer in Christian Science. Now, Christian Scientists obviously have not been able to prevent calamity or distress on every occasion. If it were otherwise, they would have no need for the practice of spiritual healing. But everyone can begin to learn how to protect himself from trouble through spiritual means.
People can experience more security by awaking from the dream, the illusion, that life is in matter and subject to evil. They can claim their always harmonious, spiritual identity as the image and likeness of God, good, who is omnipotent Spirit.
