Related to the Lesson-Sermon for December 23, 1973, in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY Subject: Is the Universe, Including Man, Evolved by Atomic Force?

Sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem (Isa. 52:9)

When these lines were written by the unknown poet-prophet of the Captivity, Second Isaiah, the city of Jerusalem, and in particular the splendid temple built by Solomon, was in ruins, laid waste by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.

The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way (Prov. 8:22)
