What Do Christian Scientists Believe?

A class of senior schoolboys were taking a course on comparative religions. One of them noticed the display window at the local Christian Science Reading Room and went in to see what Christian Scientists believe. Then the same week all the boys attended a Wednesday testimony meeting to look into Christian Science for themselves.

The impact of this on the members of the church was to make them want to review afresh just what they did believe and why it was important to them. One by one they began to relate why they had adopted this religion and way of life in the first place, and how it had helped them with their health, work, homes, and relationships. The boys were able to learn a great deal about Christian Science and its application to difficult situations and daily life.

What do Christian Scientists believe? They believe in God, because their religion shows them what God is. They believe that God is good; so they expect only good from Him. Seeing God as Principle, they know He is just and can be trusted. God is intelligent Mind, they believe, and gives wise guidance. Believing God to be Love, they find He is merciful and cares about His creation.
