Feeling Safe on Campus
The urban college campus has been likened to a jungle, the scene of increasing violence, thievery, and assault. Engulfed in this atmosphere, campus residents—beset by fears of bodily attack and personal loss—are badgered by suspicions.
What about attacks by night? Lights are added, locks are strengthened. Can one ever again feel safe on campus?
The answer is an emphatic Yes! To be free of fear is a God-given right. If we understand that we can never be separated from God, good, a great blessing is in store for us. We are told in the Bible, "Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid . . . . For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken." Prov. 3:23, 24, 26;
