Healing the Ghetto
A Christian Science practitioner listened patiently to the questions asked by a small group interested in how Christian Science could help in an area peopled by ethnic groups, which were mainly black.
"Aren't you afraid to be alone in the ghetto with all the crime and violence one reads and hears about in the media? Do black people accept the presence of a white practitioner? Do they come to you for healing, and does the healing result in church attendance?"
"Happily," he answered, "the majority of your questions can be answered in the affirmative. Only the first question—'Am I afraid?'—must be answered in the negative."
