Healing by realizing the nature of man as reflection

A reflection does not come into being by itself. It is derived. In Christian Science we learn to recognize God as the creative Mind, infinite Spirit, and man as His reflection. The Christ, God's very reflection of Himself, is the true identity of man. As God's reflection, man is coexistent and coeternal with God, the exact likeness of his Maker. His God-bestowed being is perpetually and effortlessly emanating from Mind; it is the individualized expression of Truth, Life, and Love.

The healing power of Jesus sprang from his understanding of God and of man's inseparable relationship to God as His son, His reflection. "We have the mind of Christ,"^{I Cor. 2:16;}wrote the Apostle Paul to the Christians at Corinth, and Jesus demonstrated that this Christ, Truth, comes to human consciousness with healing power. It overcomes the discords and diseases of mortal existence by exposing their unreality and nothingness. Through his merciful healings Jesus proved that man is not a finite, material entity, born into matter and dying out of it, but an individual expression of infinite consciousness, dwelling forever in the eternity of Spirit.

Anyone who understands the scientific unity between God and His reflection can utilize and demonstrate the healing power of the Christ, Truth, for himself or for another. We must remember that the real man, our true selfhood in Christ, is forever conscious of his existence in Spirit as its immediate reflection. This reflection does not need time to appear. It does not come into being gradually, but is always fully apparent as the spontaneous evidence of Spirit's allness and man's eternal likeness to God.
