Spiritually Inspired Poise
The God-derived quality of poise can be proved in present human experience in many ways. An individual's thought that is consciously at one with God manifests stability, control, equilibrium. Regardless of the swirling tides of change and challenge in society today, God's great gift of dominion to His offspring can be demonstrated by us now as unshakable poise.
The need of such a quality, both now and in the coming decades, is frequently indicated in current articles and books that discuss the mental and emotional challenges arising from the rapid changes in today's world. Indeed, with the accelerated tempo of today's living, with the rapid shrinking of traditional time and space concepts, and the bewildering changes even in the routines of human experience, there is an increasing need for the resiliency and adaptability that spiritually inspired poise enables the individual to express.
The teachings of Christian Science offer the individual a concrete, definite method to cope with rapid change and to combat the seeming shock it produces. As the individual gains an understanding of his primitive, eternal heritage of God-given dominion, he inevitably possesses the mental strength and balance he needs.
