Two winters ago the healing power of Christian Science was illustrated to me in a wonderful way when I was healed of the effects of a fall on the ice. It seemed that my ankle and foot bones must be broken, and the leg muscles were pulled severely.

I was grateful to be able to get up quickly and for the truth that Mrs. Eddy has given us in Miscellaneous Writings (p. 206): "The real Christian Scientist is constantly accentuating harmony in word and deed, mentally and orally, perpetually repeating this diapason of heaven: 'Good is my God, and my God is good. Love is my God, and my God is Love.' " I repeated this over and over aloud; it enabled me to quiet thought and to reach my home.

I had the loving care of my husband throughout the experience and the prayerful support of a Christian Science practitioner for ten days. The pain subsided quickly. However, it was not until I was able to see through the temptation of indulging in self-condemnation for this accident, and also the subtle suggestion that others had experienced healing faster, that my own healing was on its way.
