[Ability to demonstrate Christian Science comes with study and practice of the truth taught by Christ Jesus and revealed in Science and Health. This series touches upon some ways in which this truth can be applied.]

Healing by realizing the activity of Mind

God is the omniactive and omnipresent Mind, and man, God's image and likeness, is the perfect, active idea emanating from this Mind.

When Christ Jesus said, "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work," John 5:17; he was referring to God, the Father, as the source of all true action and to the Christ, his true selfhood, as forever expressing or reflecting this action. Thus he indicated that man cannot have any action apart from God, that God's activity never comes to an end, and that therefore man in God's image and likeness never ceases to express his ever-operative divine Principle, or Mind. These spiritual truths enabled the Master to restore to active and useful lives the sick whose bodies had been crippled by the belief of life in matter.

We too can prove the healing power of the Christ, Truth. We can reject as unreal mortal mind's claim that muscles can become immovable or that certain types of organic and functional disease can paralyze parts of the human body. In reality there is no mortal mind that can claim existence, power, or action contrary to God.
