For a period in my life I did not study Christian Science, and it is with deep gratitude that I have come back to the truth. It isn't just the physical healings for which I am grateful, since Christian Science has brought me happiness and peace, but now I know that fear never originated in God, for God is Love. Also, peace expresses God's presence.
I would like to tell of one of the many healings I have experienced within the last few years. One evening I was attending a theater, and while I was walking up the steps to my seat, my knee seemed to give way, and I could not walk. The ushers helped me to my seat, and I sat through the evening in great pain.
This was before I had again taken up the study of Christian Science. The next morning I was taken to a doctor, who took X rays. Because I am over seventy years of age, he told me I would always have a stiff knee and would have to learn to live with it. He diagnosed it as a bad case of arthritis and a calcium deposit in the knee joint. He said he could give me relief from the pain but there was no cure. I had many heat treatments and manipulations, hoping it would help. The pain did not diminish, and my knee became very stiff.
