When our son was a preschooler, he had a spell of being very difficult. He was unruly, generally mischievous, and not much fun to have around. During this time he developed a sore on his chin that grew in size as the days passed. Some prayerful work was done to heal the problem, but no concentrated effort was made until sores began to appear elsewhere on his body. At this point we called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment for the boy.
The spreading of the sores stopped, but the problem persisted. The condition appeared to remain constant, no better and no worse.
We came to realize that we would have to work this out with the child, so the practitioner was released from the case.
