We All Can Be Healers

The moment you and I become earnest students of Christian Science and begin to apply it to human problems, at that moment in some degree we become practitioners of this Science. In other words, the metaphysical healing of human ills and limitations is not confined to those who are listed in The Christian Science Journal as public practitioners.

If we are doubtful of our ability to help and heal through spiritual means, it is well to remember that there must have been a time when all public practitioners were more or less beginners and perhaps doubtful of their ability to demonstrate Christian Science. But it is evident that they refused to limit the power of God to heal, and by courageously crossing swords with evil and learning to defeat it with Truth, they reached the point of spiritual growth they now occupy.

The path to the healing ministry is open to everyone. All earnest searchers for spiritual truth have the God-given ability to heal the sick. This power is not a personal possession. It is reflected from God, the divine Mind, and reaches the human situation through the purified, uplifted thought of the practitioner. Mary Baker Eddy tells us in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "God will heal the sick through man, whenever man is governed by God." Science and Health, p. 495;
