When I read the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I am always filled with gratitude for Mary Baker Eddy's perseverance and love for mankind. I am always searching in them for the mental cause of the sickness or for the lines of thinking leading to the healing. Although I never knew anything but Christian Science, I was, nevertheless, not spared the attacks of mortal sense. As a shy and fragile child, I fought my way through every seemingly difficult situation and was finally privileged to experience many proofs of divine Love.

I would like to tell of the healing of my mother, who was suffering from severe heart trouble. Although she had Christian Science treatment, her condition grew steadily worse. I was often very sad and could not understand why a healing did not take place, since, after all, my mother was a faithful, active Scientist.

In my distress I turned to a practitioner who had recently become my Christian Science teacher. Class instruction has been an unforgettable experience. My teacher wrote back that she would help me to remain strong and firm in the truth. From that moment on I was transformed. A deep joy and certainty of God's presence flowed through me.
