Man Never Declines
As human longevity increases, one should expect and experience continued mental, as well as physical, vigor.
Physiology equates mind with brain, considering this material organ the seat of intelligence. Christian Science, operating on an entirely spiritual level in its preventive, healing, and regenerative mission, recognizes neither the brain nor any other part of the physical body as the source of life and intelligence. Its essential purpose is not to preserve or prolong a material sense of existence but to replace this material sense with the concept of man's true, spiritual selfhood as the perfect reflection of God.
This does not mean that Christian Scientists ignore or neglect the demands of human existence. It means, rather, that the correct concept of man as spiritual makes human experience more harmonious and Godlike.
