"Now is the time"
Christ Jesus' three-year healing ministry is a good example of what it means to say, "Now is the time." From the turning of the water into wine, through to the ascension, Jesus worked on a "now is the time" schedule. It is clear that he could not wait to still the storm, he could not postpone raising the widow's son, he could not put off feeding the multitude. The resurrection was a "now thing."
As Paul puts it in an Epistle, quoting the word of the Lord from an Old Testament prophet, "I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." II Cor. 6:2;
But, one might ask, how did Jesus know, how can anyone know, that now is the time for healing? If we insist on now, does this bring in the element of human will, of forcing something?
