A High School Student Writes
Can You Talk with God?
During my seven-week stay at camp I experienced my first conversation with God. Previously I had found it difficult to comprehend how people communicated with Him, but through this proof of His guidance I caught a glimpse of how God and man can converse.
As the summer progressed, I grew very close to one of the counselors. The good qualities she expressed were many, but some of the very special ones were compassion, devotion to her job, originality, and selflessness. Throughout the summer she always wore a special smile that brightened my whole day whenever I saw it.
One afternoon when we were sitting on the boat dock just talking, I realized that she wasn't her usual effervescent self, and especially that she was not smiling. I asked if everything was all right, and she said that she was very tired and it looked as if she might have the beginning of a cold.
