Are You Under Pressure?

Most persons are familiar with sprayers labeled "contents under pressure." Under present-day stresses, many people might well wear such a label! Pressure is often a force in human experience. Unless one is alert, he may believe himself subject to the pressure of too little time, too many responsibilities, or undue influence.

Christian Scientists learn to be alert to aggressive mental suggestion, the pressure of mortal mind, and to defend themselves daily against it. They do this by knowing that God is the only Mind and that in reality man expresses only the spiritual ideas of divine Mind. Mortal mind fraudulently claims to be real and able to influence erroneously. However, wrong thoughts cannot be transmitted from one mortal mind to another if one realizes that there actually is no mortal mind, since Mind, God, is omnipotent and all true thoughts come from this divine source.

Rightly considered, there is but one force, the force of good. Wherever Truth is presented, however, its assertion of dominion over evil appears to be resisted by the reactionary forces of mortal mind. When individuals feel the influence of Truth for progress in thought and action, it is essential to be alert not to resist this divine force of good by negative thinking or delayed actions.
