Related to the Lesson-Sermon for March 21, 1971, in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY Subject: Matter

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus (II Tim. 2:1)

Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown note that the phrase "be strong" means literally "be invested with power." They compare 1:7, "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power. ... " Good-speed translates, "So you, my son, must find strength in the blessing that comes through Christ Jesus."

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God (II Cor. 10:5)
